I’m looking for a great book (or other resource) about step-parenting advice. I have the “For Dummies” book which is good but my situation is a little different than some because the birth mother passed away – it’s just us and the children, full time.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

How do we help our daughter love an adopted child as if it were a blood sibling?

My husband and I have 1 beautiful little girl who has just started school. We have tried for years to have another but have just found out that isn’t going to happen, so we are now considering adopting. Will our daughter still love this other child as if it were a blood sibling? Have you experienced this as a parent or as a child? Suggestions on how to navigate this?

I have been a single mother since my 6 year old boy was born and have just now met someone and are getting married. We love the fact that we are now going to be a family and can all come together as a celebration but how much do I involve my son in the wedding? I know it is the coming together of a family but it is also our (my fiancée and my) special day. Also is it ok to honeymoon by ourselves or should we include my son?

I have had glimpses of my son’s kindergarten teacher and I believe she can be over the top and unfair at times. Also the stories my son has told me about what happened in class make me so mad and how she can be so cranky at such small things. What do I do? Can I get my son to speak up or will that only get him in more trouble?
