#MOTY Walmart Mom of the Year Finalists – Inspire Yourself
*WARNING: Before you read about all the amazing nominees for the Walmart Mom of the Year Award, arm yourself with a large cup of tea, uninterrupted time, tissues and an open heart. These women will crawl out of the web and jump in your heart. Seriously.
A while back I wrote a post about the Mom of the Year Award – it must have resonated with someone.(well OK, lots of bloggers wrote about it – but the results are impressive.) In total, 16,909 moms were nominated, and now the eight finalists have been selected.
The stories of these women on the Mom of the Year website (www.MomoftheYear.ca) are touching. What an incredible group of gals, each tackling motherhood with charisma, grace and heart. Each mom’s story is unique and touches me. I love that the eight finalists that were selected and will each receive $10,000 for personal use and $10,000 to the charity they have chosen. Plus, at the end of September a gala will be held to announce the Mom of the Year, who will receive $100,000 for her charity!
I am glad I don’t have to pick a winner – Whether it’s Wendy who will be making a donation to Epilepsy Canada, Helen who is donating to Canadian Mental Health Association-Moncton, Karen donating to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Olivine donating to the Association des handicapés de la Gaspésie, Eileen donating to the Special Olympics Manitoba, Tammy donating to the IWK Health Center Foundation, Katie donating to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada, or Carol donating to the The Southern Alberta Myeloma Patient Society – I think they are all winners – and so are the recipients of the donations.
Who knows, maybe this donation will help your family one day.
