Peepboo: No Frump Nursing Wear!

There is one thing about breastfeeding that I hate: Flashing the girls to anyone who may be in the vicinity and lifting my shirt so everyone within view can admire my muffin top.

I first saw Peepboo nursing wear at The Children’s Trunk Show – I gravitated to their clothing pieces like kids to candy.  There was just something about the colors, the cut, the look, the feel and the quality of the clothing that I was just drawn to. It was an immediate love connection.

I find so many of the nursing tops simply frumpy with access points that are not discreet, they are poorly made and look like they are straight from the ’80s… and we all know the ’80s were a fashion disaster.

PeepbooTM is a patent-pending nursing garment system.  Really, it’s your new favourite cami or dress.  It’s made from luxuriously soft bamboo jersey, with a flattering neckline and smooth frontage that looks great under your best jacket or blazer.  It has specially designed PeepbooTM overlayers with openings that align just so.  No plastic snaps.  No unsightly ridge or gap under your breasts.  No struggling with a nursing bra in addition to your clothes.  Want a visual?

Very clever indeed.

At the end of her season, Anita the mastermind behind Peepboo, sent me the best email of that week.  “Shelagh, we have one green Peepboo cutaway top and we would like you to have it.”  ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It was the one top I had hummed and haaaed over at the show, but decided to wait until I had had the baby – it was my reward.

Folks, I wore that top all… I mean ALL summer.  Days on end. And I wasn’t even nursing – just pregnant at that stage! It has not faded, it has not lost its shape, it is SO comfortable – It is seriously one of my favorites.  I now wear it as soon as it is clean, at least twice a week – and it is so, so user friendly for nursing The Babe. I put a cotton cardigan over top to keep my arms warm – I love it.

I am able to nurse in public without flashing everybody The Girls, and I don’t need to reveal my muffin top to anyone! I can keep everything discreetly under wraps and fill up The Babe.  Win- Win.

I loved the green cutaway top so much, I saved up my pennies and bought the Cowl Neck Tunic . These are investment pieces- I just wash and wear and wear and wear… I love them that much.  I love that I can keep wearing them long after The Babe is weaned. Quality baby, quality. Highly recommend.  Not getting paid to say so.

If you live in the Toronto area, Peepboo.com is having a Pop-Up Boutique on Sunday, December 18th, 2011 at the Art Bar – Gladstone Hotel – 1214 Queen St. West, Toronto 10am – 5pm. Worth a peek indeed!
