Old Navy Activewear

For me, happiness is a pair of pants that I can do a yoga class in, go for a run or walk in, and lounge around in on a chilly, rainy Sunday afternoon. This past Friday morning, I found such a pant when I was invited to the media launch of Active by Old Navy at 889 Yoga’s new yoga studio at the Thompson Hotel. A gaggle of media types gathered for a healthy breakfast, selected and changed into outfits from the new line, compliments of Old Navy, and headed into the lovely sunlit studio for a restorative yoga class. What a wonderful way to start a day.

The Active by Old Navy line boasts an array of features including flat seams, zipper pockets, moisture-wicking and tag-free labels, but what I liked is that my outfit covered all my squishy bits and was really comfortable to wear. I also liked the price point (although I received my outfit for free) – everything comes in under $50 and most pieces are under $30. Given how much I’m loving my new pants (I’m wearing them right now), I will definitely be back to purchase more.

Happiness can come in many shapes and sizes. In addition to my new perfect pants, I was surprised when I also found pure bliss in 889 Yoga’s restorative yoga class. In what was possibly the most relaxing 45 minutes of my life, our instructor Kim guided us through just four poses, holding each for 10 minutes or so. I ended the class feeling rested and restored, free from any little aches or pains that I can usually find somewhere in my body. I practice yoga regularly, but had never done a restorative class before. Now I can’t get back to their studio fast enough to do another class. Incredibly comfortable pants and a way to find total relaxation in just 45 minutes – a pretty nice combination.
