Do you have a toddler or pre-schooler at home who loves to rock? Well, I think I can predict what new toy will be on top of their holiday wish list.

Hasbro’s PLAYSKOOL brand has entered into a new partnership with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street. Their new pre-school toy line-up is headlined by none other than our furry red friend Elmo. And this time around, Elmo has a rockin’ new look.

Check him out! Let’s Rock! Elmo is all ready sing and play with your wee ones. He comes with drums, tambourine and microphone, and he knows six songs.  In his rock concert t-shirt, he is looking pretty cool. Your kids can choose which instrument or instruments to give him, and he will recognise it and launch into the associated song.  Elmo also interacts with other Let’s Rock! instruments (sold separately). Your child can play the LET’S ROCK! Guitar, Keyboard or Microphone, and Elmo will recognise this and play along.

My 5 year-old and I were lucky enough to be invited to the recent launch of Let’s Rock! Elmo, in Toronto. Elmo made his rockin’ debut on stage with the lovely Canadian singer, Nikki Yanofsky. (What a voice!)  Little Boo’s jaw dropped when he saw Elmo performing. He looked at me and said, “Mommy, I have GOT to get that toy!” It was too cute. He was sold immediately. We had a chance to test out Elmo and his interactions with the add-on instruments, and it was really neat. The kids were amazed that Elmo was responding to them. This is really a fun, interactive toy for the wee set.

Let’s Rock! Elmo is recommended for ages 18 months to 4 years, but, as I said, my 5-and-a-half year old was thrilled with him. You know your own child best!
