prude or rude??

My 7 year old girl wants to wear a bikini to the beach like all the pretty big girls. I’m not sure if I’m being a prude but I don’t like the idea of my baby girl in a bikini. What do you think?

    I agree with you. I don’t like bikinis on young girls either (or even older ones to tell you the truth) – I feel it’s over sexualizing our children and an age which is far too young. Why dress them up to attract predators…

    What example are you setting for her? Do you wear bikinis? Maybe she just wants to look pretty like her mummy. In that case it is entirely in your control to sway her opinion if you dress differently yourself. Have a talk to your daughter and ask her why she thinks it’s pretty to dress that way.
