No friends

My son has many chums, but no real friends…I try to set up play dates, but the other moms don’t seem to want to bother. How can I help my 8 1/2 year old make friends?

    take him to a park or other places that kids are. I have found that several of our friend we now play with we originally met in a park and their mum and I started chatting, got each others numbers and still hang out now. Other options could be joining a sport or youth group or another place where 8 yr old boys congregate
