Lay’s Chip Trips – What are you doing this summer?

It’s here. after a long 9 month wait.  It is finally here.  The first long weekend of the Canadian summer.  Have you got out your white pants and open toed shoes?  Because it’s now acceptable to wear them.  Has the panic set in yet?  Are you madly searching for things to do? It’s almost here… School will be out in less than 6 weeks. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

It dawned on me the other day. I was trying to book a play date when I noticed that in a few short weeks we would be totally available to play.  Very available.  {We can come to you? We clean up after ourselves…? Honestly, we make good play companions? Please? I’ll bring snack?}  With June, July and August looking so barren on the calendar I find myself soothing feelings of panic with Smarties. (Mind you that is an issue all on its own for another blog post – I digress)

Things have just looked up though.  Way up. Way, way up.  Frito Lay, yes the chip people, have started a Chip Trip promotion. What do chips and trips have in common?  Well, with one you get the other!  Lay’s is a proud Canadian company who is offering Canadians
 the
opportunity
to
celebrate
a
whole
 summer of
fun with
friends
and
 family
at
their
favorite
local
attractions.

The
 Lay’s
 Chip
 Trips
 program has
been
 developed
 to
 give
 Canadian
 families
 a
simple
way
to
enjoy
summer
at
home
without
spending
a
bundle.

Here’s
how
 it
works:
• Simply
 pick
up
a
specially
marked
bag
 of
Lay’s
Chips.

Each

 3‐15
 points
depending
on
the
bag
size.
(FYI: the
two
new
flavours,
BBQ
 RIB
and
CHEDDAR
 AND
SOUR
 CREAM
are
worth
 double
 points!
• Visit
 Lays.ca to
 create
an
account
and
then
enter
the
unique
code
that
you’ll
find
on
the
back
of
the
bag.

You
can
enter
as
 many
 codes
as
you
want
 and start
to
bank
your
points.
• Use
your
points
to
claim
great
discounts
on
fun
 things
to
do
with
your
family and
 friends
 all
summer
long.

I am in love with this idea!  So what is on my radar for this summer?

  • Wayspa gift certificate
  • Centreville Island
  • Great Wolf Lodge
  • Wayspa gift certificate
  • Blue Mountain Resort
  • Wayspa gift certificate

Oops, was that spa gift certificate mentioned three times?  My bad… can you tell I am excited?

Read more about our upcoming Lay’s Chip Trips adventures over the summer months.  We’d love to hear about your adventures too. Let me sweeten the deal.  When you sign up for your new  Chip Trip account, enter the coupon code PRCTI-CLMUM and receive 10 free points.  That is enough to start claiming great discounts right away!! (Offer valid until May 31, 2010).

Summer all of a sudden is not feeling so overwhelming.  With discounts at attractions, restaurants, hotels, car rental agencies… it is looking up.  We are still interested in a playdate though.

    Just an FYI:

It appears your coupon code does not work. When I tried it, it said it was valid for just 6 hours.

I am on it. You are very kind to let me know it doesn’t work. I will keep you posted!

So, I clarified with Mom Central. The code is valid for new account registrations only, it’s also case sensitive. I have gone back in the post to clarify it. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Have you redeemed any points yet? We’d love to hear how it goes!

I am sorry, your code does work if you sign up, and then it works for 6 hours. It cannot be banked if you previously registered.

  3. so this reallyw orks? In the CN tower promotion for instance, by buying one bag of chips I can save $16.50 off the CN tower admission price?

    That seems really, super easy!

HAs anyone actually cashed in and went to a venue with a voucher yet?

Yup! It really works. Loads of certificates have been downloaded. Great savings across the country. I’d love to know where you choose to go! Each bag of chips is worth a certain value. You just need to figure out how many bags = the amount of points you need. Let me know where you go!! Thanks for stopping in!

  4. That is awesome! I Will be on the lookout for the specially marked bags! There are a lot of great options!

  5. Bought me some chips today and set up my account! Blogged about it too!
