Self Feeding

1

My 10 month old wants to feed herself, and refuses a spoon (even with it in her hand) at some meals. I usually count on the spoon to feed her iron rich foods like baby cereal, ground meat, lentil soup and the like.
Looking for suggestions on iron rich finger foods?

  1. Hmm, you could try pieces of soft cooked vegetables and fruit, soft ripe fruit such as banana, cooked meat and poultry and cheese cubes. Lots of different things contain iron so you should be okay just offering a variety (as long as you’ve done the allergy check first ;)
