Girlfriends + Martinis + No Kids + Diva Girl Game = A Hilarious Awesome Night
I love being mummy, really I do. But sometimes, even the most loving mummies need to get out. And what better way to refill the oxygen tanks than to hang out with your girls, have a drink and a gossip… and play a game. Diva Girl added a really fun dimension to our night.
We had all brought a “Diva Gift” (anything from magazines to tea to mascara to candles). We were in our comfy clothes with a Diva accessory - boas, tiaras, gloves and PJs. I must say, we were very fashion forward.
There were snacks galore and my husband was making drinks for us; martinis, prosecco and red wine. I was in my happy place.
Diva Girl Game is very straight forward, which is nice because after a few bevvies, complex can quickly become frustrating. It also allows for lost of socializing and visiting while playing. The other good thing was nobody ever felt in the “hot seat” – there was no pressure to perform – other than keeping track of which card was called (after a few martinis I was a little loose and needed a little help). Nobody had to sing, draw or do anything where a team was counting on them. Winning was part of the fun too. We were all clearly Canadian being polite and respectful about stealing gifts. A new level of competitiveness could be added if we had been really aggressive with gift stealing.
The game itself is brilliantly created. Each card is linked to items many women really love: from diamonds and facials to sexy slippers and mocha. Players have to draw matching cards and earn “Diva Dollars” along the way. Each new winner got to pick a new gift or steal an already opened gift. The player at the end with the most Diva Dollars is awarded a hostess gift.
DivaGirl sells for $19.95 at divagirl.bz. A portion of the proceeds goes to Home Makers, a micro-lending program for Nigerian women with AIDS, and Camp Laurel, a Pasadena-based organization that provides educational camping experiences for young people living with HIV/AIDS.
All in all it was a fabulous night. There were loads of laughs and all around great girltalk. We swapped kiddo stories and really enjoyed hanging out. The game added a fun dimension to our evening. I would definitely bring my game to other girlie events or host another Diva Girl evening.
__________________________________________________________Just so we’re clear – I was sent the Diva Girl Game in exchange for writing this review. This endorsement is an honest reflection of my game evening. Thank you to Nancy and Liz at Diva Girl for the opportunity (and excuse) to host a fantastic mummy evening.

I was lucky enough to be invited to Diva night
. It was such great fun playing while socializing with new friends. The topic areas in the game are just the kinds of things girls like to talk about -and so many fun stories were shared over yummy martinis and treats. It was fun not to have to concentrate too hard, but you could totally speed up the rounds to make it more competitive and catch that person who is slow because of their 3rd martini
. Thanks for a great evening out!

What a great night! I really enjoyed leaving the kids behind, getting out for a couple of hours with a group of great mummmies, prosecco, yummy snacks and a fun girly game.
The Diva game was great as you could still play and chat with the other mummies at the same time. We were all way to polite and helped each other out when we missed our card being called. Had we been more competative it would have changed the dynamics of the game. My favourite part was that I got to come home with not one but two great Diva Gifts!!
