Disney on Ice: A little fairy dust and a lot of magic!
Published 19th December, 2009 2 commentsThere is something magical about this time of year. Watching Christmas unfold through the eyes of a child adds a special sparkle and twinkle to the days. I wondered if this same phenomenon would ring true with Disney. Would the magic of Disney take on a special meaning when seeing it with kids? Would seeing Disney through the eyes of a child be equally as magical? I was not disappointed.
I was never a princess lover as a little girl. Disney to me was Sunday nights at 6pm, when the fireworks at the Disney Castle would come alive on The Wonderful World of Disney. I have vaguely known who Ariel, Jasmine, and Belle were, they were after my time. I was from the Snow White, Cinderella, Tinkerbell era.
We went to see the Disney on Ice : Princess Classics show. A world of fairy dust, glittering costumes, catchy tunes and fairy tale stories have been captured by Disney… on Ice.
All four of us enjoyed the magic of the evening. My husband had the ingenious idea of bringing a booster
seat (avec table) for both kids. Both kids could eat their pizza in their chair, complete with tray. If you don’t want to pack luggage to attend, there are booster seats to borrow (minus the tray) on a first come, first serve basis.
Consider a second mortgage if you’d like to buy some food. ($30 for 3 slices of pizza, hot dog and two waters). Next time we’ll eat before we head out.
Keep an iron grip on your wallet… the merchandise is attractive to young consumers. The Boy thought he needed princess high heels, a tutu and a magic wand. errrrr…? We settled on a Mickey snowcone…. which he subsequently spilled, then sat in, leaving his tush a wet rainbow of dye and sugar. His undies are now a catchy tie-dye motif.
It felt great to sit back and escape real life for a while. The kids were entranced through most of the show. The Boy is still talking about the characters and the skating. The costumes are magnificent, and combined with the music, it really is more fun to see it with your kids. There is no doubt, Disney on Ice is magic and a must-see this holiday season!
A huge thank you to Mom Central for the opportunity to attend Disney on Ice.
