Snack Attack!
I’m not one of those. You know, one of those women whose bodies snap back into pre-baby shape… and you wonder whether they actually had a baby. I am one of the OTHER those, the other those who continue to have the telltale muffin top a year after the baby is born, the other those who people tend to ask if they are still pregnant… yes, one of THOSE those. I am the one who, post baby, took up running and am now training for a half marathon- running over 25km a week- and, after 3 months, have yet to drop a single pound or a dress size. Can you feel the frustration oozing?
So, it is not normal to do that amount of fitness without any results. At least, I don’t think it is. So I have decided to have an observation period about my food intake. I am noticing several things – I don’t drink enough water, I eat the untouched food from the kids’ plates (I hate seeing it go to waste), I have a killer sweet tooth AND my weak times of day are 2pm and 8pm. When the kids are asleep, and I feel trapped at home and bored- I eat unconsciously. So I have been in search of a snack that is healthy and also satisfying.
I was sent a package of Back to Nature Raisins, Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds, Pecans and Apricots Nut Mix to sample. They were delicious and I felt very earthy and healthy munching away on them. Back to Nature is part of the Kraft family of products. Their nut mixes have no artificial additives, preservatives, sweeteners, chemicals, hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. It’s 100% natural. They use premium ingredients and the best available nuts and harvested fruits.
This particular flavour is not for the salty craving person. The added dried fruit brings quite a sweet flavour to the mix. Some of the dried fruit is tough as nails chewy – but I liked that as it occupied my mouth for longer and I felt like I was chewing on a candy. The nuts are definitely filling and a great power packed snack. A good alternative to try- if only it would lipo the muffin top at the same time!!

As someone that has struggled with her weight for ages, I say WOW!!
Good for you for being so diligent about watching what you eat – literally. Really taking note of what goes in your mouth in a day can be quite sobering! We think we’re “doing good” and then realize that we’ve eaten more than we imagined.
I love the ‘all natural’ notion, however as important as natural ingredients are, we have to be careful to not be filled with fatty all natural items. Butter is all natural too! We shouldn’t eat it every day!
I don’t know If I said it already but …Cool site, love the info. I do a lot of research online on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,
A definite great read..Tony Brown
